Seasonal Environmental Educator - Pequest


Date: April - October
Location: Pequest Trout Hatchery, Warren County

The Pequest Natural Resource Education Center in Oxford is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and motivated seasonal instructor to join the staff in teaching science and outdoor education programs.

Job Description: Position entails conducting facility tours, guided hikes and fishing education programs. Educators will also assist in other facility work as necessary such as grounds and trails maintenance. Fishing experience is preferred. Majority of hours will be Monday - Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Some weekend days are required. Applicants who cannot work during the position time frame will not be considered.

Requirements: Applicants need to be enthusiastic, creative, and self-motivated with a Bachelor's degree in education, natural resources, natural sciences, natural history, outdoor recreation, or related fields, or who are working towards a degree in one of these fields. Excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for teaching children are essential.

Compensation: $11.00-$14.00 based on education/experience
